Practical support and mentoring

One way that organisations may be able to provide practical support to another NFP organisation is through sharing resources – for example, a policy and procedure or a manual that has been developed to meet the guidelines for a particular program or how to run a program.

Mentoring is another way in which an experienced and skilled agency may be able to support another group or organisation. The model promoted under the Multicultural Community Services Network (MCSN) involves an identified number of one-to-one sessions between the mentor and mentee to develop knowledge and skills for a specific activity. Go to Mentoring Resources.

It is important to be clear what you want from a mentoring arrangement and to participate in the process as agreed at the start of the arrangement as both parties are often very busy.

You can find out more about practical support and mentoring on the “What Multicultural Organisations Need” and “Who is Offering What” pages.
